Athletes have to be determined and full of concentration in order to win the race. This is how Paul felt about himself. An athlete in a race. He put forth all his strength and pressing on with determination and concentration to finish the race and to win.
Paul’s goal was to reach and fulfill the goal that Christ set before him. For him winning the race was having a perfect union with Christ. He got a glimpse of what of heaven’s glory. He centered his entire life on Christ’s purpose until God called him home.
Mae should all have this determination. In our lifetime here on earth we will have distractions, trials, temptation, worries, evil desires, threaten our relationship with Christ. We can’t take our eyes off the prize of being with Jesus forever. We have to forget our old life of sins. We have to let go of the good and bad experiences of our lives. We must not let Satan overwhelm us with our failures, fears, and trials.
When we want to give up and go with the flow of the world; we must push forward towards the goal! We must stay the course that Christ has set before us! We must stay in the purpose and will of Christ.
Are you running the race with strength and determination?
Are you aiming your goal of that which Christ set before you?
Do you know and understand what your purpose of this race is for?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all your good works. I pray that you helps us to run this race to the finish line . Help us to have determination and strength and concentration. Helps us to keep focus on you!
In Jesus Name,
Amen
