The Blessing of Divine Protection

He fills my life with good things. Psalm 103: 5

When you had an opportunity to serve others, did you turn it down because you were afraid of the risk?  Do you fear things you can not control if you say yes to helping others or serving in a new ministry?  Do you know what the root of this fear is?  This fear stops us from doing what God has called us to do.  I completely understand.  When we serve others in any area of our lives, we are bound to get hurt.  This is life.  Yet, we have to remember to get back up and trust God that He has our backs.  He is our Divine Protector.

Read Luke 4:30; John 8:59; John 10:39.  How did Jesus getaway each time?  Jesus didn’t worry about His safety.  He didn’t worry about what was going on in the background of what people were scheming to do.  Even when Jesus had to deal with His human emotions, Jesus surrendering to God’s plan.

Read Exodus 13: 20-22.  How did God lead the Israelites?  Now put this into perspective.  The Israelites were slaves in Egypt.  They probably never left Egypt, and now they were leaving traveling to places that they don’t know anything about. For me, that would take a lot of trusts.  How did God lead the Israelites in the day and night?

Read Psalm 119:105.  How is God’s Word described?  Our house does not have many lights.  We have to use a lot of lamps to light up a room.  Two rooms that have the poorest lighting are my sons’ bedroom and my bedroom.  We finally got lamps in their room; however, the light bulbs are not bright, so it is still hard to see, same with my bedroom. There is one light on the ceiling of the room.  It only lights up that area of the room.  So around my bed, we have very little light.  When I am working on my bed, this is where I get so frustrated with the lighting.  I can’t see very well.  So up goes the curtain during the day.  Natural light is great.  Sometimes, this is how we can feel with God leading us, that there isn’t much light on where he is leading us.

Read Psalm 91.  Make a list of what God will do for us?  Have you played it safe in your life because you didn’t want to get hurt?  Have you ever stepped into a divine assignment and sensed God clearing the way for you to do what He has called you to do?

God loves you; he protects you, especially when He calls you to help in His plan.  Never fear that.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for protecting us.  I pray that we will not live in fear of what will or would happen but surrender that fear to you and be obedient to you.

In Jesus Name

Amen
