The Blessing of Supernatural Provision

He fills my life with good things. Psalm 103: 5

The Israelites spent 40 years wandering the wilderness.  God did supernatural miracles to take care of His people.  During this time of wandering, they had to learn how to be faithful.  Little details that we overlook when we read the bible.  Read Deuteronomy 8:4;29:5.  I never put much thought into these verses.  When they were about to enter the Promised Land, Moses reminds them of all that God did.  Read Deuteronomy 2:7.  Do you ever wonder if the Israelites really felt that way?  Or is that what Moses assumed?  Either way, Moses does reflect on what is truth – God is faithful.  He is faithful when His people and followers are not.  He is always working in our lives, even when we don’t see it.

Read Mark 6:36-37.  What is the ord used to describe how Jesus felt toward the people? Why did the disciples get upset when Jesus told them to feed the people?

Jesus knew that the people needed to eat.  He provided for them.  He had compassion for them.  The disciples complained because they didn’t have the money to spend to feed the people.  They thought the situation was impossible.  Don’t we all think this way from time to time?

Read Mark 6:38-44.  Think about all the details from this passage. How would you feel if you were a disciple looking at the number of people to feed with five loaves and two fish?  Will we ever stop doubting God and the way He provides for those who trust in Him.  Now take some time and compare this story with the Numbers 11:22.  Are there any similarities or differences?

Now let’s read Matthew 6:8 and 6:32.  What does God already know?  What are we not to be like?

Read 1 Kings 17:7-16.  What does Elijah instruct the widow to do first?  What is the prophecy that Elijah gives the widow?  What happens to the jar of flour and jug of oil?

God is about supernatural provisions.  He takes care of us all.  God knows what we need before we even do. Read Psalm 37:25 and James 1:17.  What do these verses tell us about God’s provision?  Read the following Psalm 34:10, Matthew 7:7, Philippians 4:19.  What are God’s promises to provide for His people?

Dear Heavenly  Father,

Thank you for providing for us with all our needs.  Thank you for knowing what we need when we need them.

In Jesus Name

Amen
