The Blessings

He fills my life with good things.  Psalm 103:5

Oh! the blessed life!  When we surrender all to Jesus, we received blessings from our Heavenly Father!  Are we perfect?  NO! However, God is the perfect craftsman.  He sees our brokenness and knows how to fit all the broken pieces together.  He makes us whole. He doesn’t walk away or hope we will figure it out on our own.  He is right there the whole time if we allow it.  God holds us together with His peace, provision, and protection.  Even in this difficult world, people can see His glory all around shining through the broken pieces in our lives.  This is how big, and wonderful God is!

Let’s read 1 Peter 1:7.  Why does God allow His people to go through trials that feel like fire?  What is it about gold that is so desirable or attractive? Now read Isaiah 61:3.  What does God exchange our hardship and heartache for when we trust Him?  Read Ephesians 3:16-20.  What does God use His glorious riches for?  What does the author want us to grasp about God’s love?  What surpasses knowledge.

When we move through our wilderness season, we grow in courage, strength, perseverance, and faith.  At this moment, the power of God increases in our lives while He is working in each of us.  Here is an exercise or a challenge for you to do today or sometime this week.  I can’t even believe I am suggesting this.  Find a Vase or a bowl that can break.  or find one that has cracks in it.  Be creative here.  I would probably go to a second-hand store and buy a cheap one.  Get a permanent marker.  On each crack or broken piece, you will write down two things, so also things space.  Write down an area in your life that is broken. It can be from childhood, money hardship, relationships, health, moral failing, parenting disappointment, etc. With each brokenness, write down a lesson learned, an aha moment you learned about God, a verse that was encouraging at that moment.   Be creative in this activity.  It’s to remind you of how good God is in the middle of the storm and the many blessings he gives when we surrender and trust in Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the many blessing you give us.  I pray that in all the hardships we go through we will remember how faithful you are to us in those times.

In Jesus Name

Amen
