He fills my life with good things. Psalm 103: 5
How do we live a surrendered life as Jesus did? Especially when situations still come up and have to be handled.
Read Matthew 5:3-11. Highlight the blessed, then draw an arrow to the “for.” Circle the blessing that they receive. Which blessing can you relate to?
Do any of these verses correspond to the temptation that Jesus face while he was in the wilderness? If so, which ones?
Do you ever feel like you repeat a lesson that you have gone through before? I sure have. I kept going through it until I understood and remembered what not to do. Can you relate to me? Sometimes those experiences are hard to get through. Jesus is a wonderful teacher and patient. He explains the why in this passage that we read. We need to learn to let go and live like Jesus. Reread Matthew 5:13-16. What food enhancer does Jesus call His followers? Salt brings out the flavor in our food. It is a natural influencer that brings out the best in whatever it is poured out on. Jesus describes His disciples with another symbol. What is it? Salt and light are both symbols that Jesus uses. How does Jesus want His disciples to influence the world with their godly attitude and character?
As you look back at the trials and testing you have been through, how can you and your story uplift, influence, and encourage others even as you are going through a difficult time? Or even if it is from the past?
Our trials are not going to end. Life is life. We are always going to have problems. If we experience peace and calm, we have to choose God’s way instead of ours. We have to surrender our path to God’s way for God’s peace, power, and provision. We need to remember that it will create hardships and heartache in our lives when we take things into our own hands.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being all things to us. I pray that we will surrender all to you and trust you in all situations. I pray that we will not step ahead of you or stay far behind you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
