The Church
In Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:5
How do you feel about the church? Do you struggle attending a church?
We as children of God need to learn how to live for God. We need to be taught. We need to know how to hear his voice. In the Bible, God gave vision and enabled the spiritual leaders He called. What they were doing for God was crucial. Read Acts 6 to get a picture of the pattern of a church.
We must come to understand who we are in relation to God and each other. The church is a creation of Christ. In Matthew 16:18, Christ builds His church using pastors and leaders and arrange members to His will. The church is a living body of Christ with many members. It’s not a building or an organization. It’s a group of people built up into a living body. Christ is the head of the church. All matters of the church are under His Lordship. We, the body, are interdependent on one another. We need each other. The church is on a mission with Christ to do God’s will.
We have to be more focused on being who God wants us to be more than what he wants us to do. Obeying God is important, however, he wants to form us into who he wants us to be. He is more concerned with how we treat one another, then what we are doing. He does not want division amongst us. God wants us to love one another above all else. He wants us to work in an ethical and legal way. He wants us to have integrity. God wants us to be holy and pure, to display unity, and to love one another. The church operates as one unit. We each have a role to play within the body to function in order for the body to work correctly.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your church. I pray that even in our differences amongst each other, we will stay with your will and purposes. I pray that we will love each other and be unified. I pray that we will be a group of people that will represent you and that because of who we are in you that this will draw others to you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
