Do you think this is harsh?
Saul rebelled against God’s plans and purposes. Since he did this, he opened himself up to demonic influence. In 1 Samuel 15: 23 says, “For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption isas iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you form being king.”
God is in complete control. Evil spirits can only operate as God allows. He can even use them to fulfill his purposes. In 1 Samuel 18:10 says, “the next day a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, he raved within his house while David played his lyre, as he did day by day.” This doesn’t mean that God directly sent a demonic spirit into Saul. It is rather that God allowed an evil spirit to take control and influence him. This is all due to Saul rebelling agiainst God’s plans and purposes.
Do you struggle with rebelling against God?
Do you try to obey God?
OR do you flat out don’t care?
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that each of us will examine our hearts towards you. I pray that we will choose to not rebellion against you, Lord.
In Jesus Name
Amen
