God is so merciful to us. We are to be imitators of God. As God gives us mercy, we should be willing to off others mercy.
Each day of every moment, God gives us His mercy. People need mercy. We, humans make mistakes, we mess up, we sin. We are not perfect, Yet!!! With all of this, God still offers us mercy all day long, when we don’t deserve. When someone wrongs us, whether they know it or not, are we willing to offer mercy to them?
Being merciful is being full of sympathy and compassion towards those who are suffering. Suffering being, in sin or going through a trial of lessons from God. Being merciful is also showing understanding towards someone when they may have misspoken or you have misunderstood them. Showing mercy (kindness) can be a weapon against the enemy. Showing mercy in all situations can help us not have disunity among us believers in Christ. Disunity is what Satan wants. If we are not shining Jesus, then others won’t want anything to do with God.
Merciful people want to help those who are in pain. They also get actively involved in meeting people’s needs. We showing mercy to others, we shall receive mercy also.
Where do you stand on offering others mercy? Do you get mad and angry first? Or do you pray over it? Is this matter something really worth getting offended by? Are you sure you interrupted the situation right?
I sometimes wonder if we are offended and we miss the mark of misunderstanding the situation. We let something that shouldn’t be offended with fester until is it a mountain. We should pray and then go right to that person and communicate. Ask the question , ” Did I misunderstand what you were saying?” “This is how I understand you? Was I right or wrong in that?” When we do this we are using mercy to help a situation not be a bad, hurtful, situation. We are not letting Satan into our relationship.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for you mercy that you offer new every morning. God I pray that we will go to you in prayer and seek your wisdom on situations that we get into. I pray that we will offer more mercy to others. Help us to want to have unity than division.
In Jesus Name
Amen
