The Presence of Jesus Brings Joy

“You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:11‬ ‭

There are two upcoming weddings in our immediate family!  There is excitement, stress, and joy all around.  I hope that both sets of couples will take the time to enjoy the process of coming together.  That they have the joy in each other’s presence like the day their dad and I got married.  One is happening this month and the other next summer.  I am getting two lovely daughter in laws. They are taking their single lives and are joining together with their spouse.  Marriage is many things. It is hard, it’s fun, and it’s a journey.  It’s being a team together.  When truly love the other person, personal preference can easily be sacrificed for the unexplainable joy you feel in living life with your spouse.
Have you experience joy like this?

We can have this joy with Jesus.  We have it when we are  in his presence through our spending time with Him in pray, worship, and reading His Word.  I often wonder what it was like  that night that Jesus  was born.  I am not talking about the details as the Bible describes but the deeper details.  How did Mary and Joseph feel in those moments of seeing their God come to earth?  Did they really comprehend what had happen?  Did they realize that their Messiah had come? Did they realize that they were in the very presence of Jesus?  Or what about the shepherds?  What was there experience like?  Did the angels shine bright as can be?  Or was it like the northern lights from a distance?  Did they all have instant joy?  Were they afraid?

Have you ever thought about the things that aren’t mentioned in the story of Jesus birth?

The shepherds, they went to Bethlehem and to see what joyous event had happened.  They took a risk of dropping everything and went to see Jesus!  King David talked about God as his shepherd in Psalm 16:11.  He said the there is abundance of joy being in His presence. There is no joy separate from Jesus!
Are you seeking God’s presence in this weary world?  Are you risky things in your life to be at the feet of Jesus?

One day we are going experience eternal joy in His presence!  Oh happy dance!!! My heart pitter patters at the thought of being physically in His presence!  How about you?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your abundance joy!!  I am so thankful that we can be in your presence and have a personal relationship with you!  And all due to your wonderful plan.  God I pray that we will seek you over everything else!
In Jesus Name

Amen
