Life, here on earth, can be untidy and unruly. It can be so unpredictable that our hearts can be fragile and get hurt in all of it. Life doesn’t always gives us answers to our questions. Life leaves blanks. It leaves no details. Are you a person who likes all the blanks filled and as many details as possible? I do not know how many times I have to rewind the video to a speaker just to fill in their outline and get all the great details that speak on.
We don’t get all the answers, do we? There was a time in my own life where I was searching for an answer to something. I was so confused about things. I search the scripture, I prayed and read books on the topic. This is where God became a living God to me. He spoke to me and I obeyed Him. I invited Him into my life where I had blanks. I leaned into Him for guidance and trusted. I think that is why we don’t’ have all the answers in this life. He is waiting for us to invite him into our lives. Without these blanks in our lives, we would have no reason to invite him into our lives. We need to let Him become the way when there is no other way. We need to let Him be our truth when lies surround us and consume our thoughts.
God is not fickled, forgetful, or fragile. He doesn’t make mistakes. He purposes the gaps. He leaves room for us to come to him willingly. He wants to be apart of our journey in this life.
Jesus is a great example. Before he was born, there was no room for him to enter the world. He came in a humble and lowly way where animals stayed. He came to redeem us. Do you have spaces or blanks in your life for Jesus’ redemption?
Do you have any blanks or unanswered questions in your life that you want to be filled or answered?
Read John 11:1-27. What is the fifth I AM statement in this passage? Who was the woman He said this to? He was talking to Martha. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” Why did he tell her? We don’t know why she was told and the leaders weren’t, or that Mary wasn’t the one, or even the disciples. Martha replied with this, “Lord, I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. Jesus had a reason for this interaction with Martha. He was intentional with her. Jesus is intentional with you. He speaks to us in many different ways. Sometimes its loud, or quiet. He speaks to us about the hard things that can be challenging and overwhelming things. He will speak to us in just the way we need to hear things. He will also speak to us in ways that we will not understand at that moment, but we will understand later on. Remember God stills speak to us. It not just in the bible. He is a living God who loves us deeply.
Are you inviting God to speak to you?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being our resurrection life. Thank you for knowing all. Thank you for not filling in all the blanks to our lives. I pray that each of us will invite you into our lives. I pray that we will intentionally listen to you when you speak to us.
In Jesus Name
Amen
