Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Faith is trusting God in all things. It does not base its hope on the visible circumstances, but on confidence in spiritual realities. The same things that are the object of our hope are the object of our faith. We can put our hope in God even when we don’t physically see him. We have hope in God’s promises. We can lean on God. Since we have hope, we have confidence of faith. The unseen things of hope become rare and real.
Our hope in God is the faith we have that He will keep his promises. We have hope for our future, even though we don’t know what will happen. We can trust that God will have his hand in it. Therefore, we can go forth in confidence in our hope in Christ Jesus. Hope gives us the strength to keep moving forward with God when we are unsure of the future.
Where in your life that you have hope that grows your faith in God? Do you trust God with your life? Do you trust him when He is asking you to do something that is out of your comfort zone?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the hope we have in you. As we head into the New Year, help us to have the faith to follow your lead. I pray that even though we don’t understand or see things the way you do, that we will keep our faith in you and our hope focused on your plan.
