Let him who boasts boast in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:31
God will accomplish through us what He has purposed us to do when we obey God. When we do not obey God, we will miss out on the most exciting experience of our life. We have to allow God to work through us, so He can accomplish His purpose.
Have you allowed God to use you through your obedience?
Have you been blessed by God?
We will be blessed when God does a special, God – sized work through you. Let’s look at Moses. Moses obeyed God and God accomplished what His purpose. Read Exodus 7:1-6. Moses experienced God only when he obeyed God. Moses began to experience the nature of God. In verse 2, what was Moses asked to do? What did God say He was going to do in verse 4? According to verse 5, what would be the result when Moses obeyed and God did what He said? Now let’s read Exodus 8:16-19. What did God ask Moses and Aaron to do in verse 16? How did Moses and Aaron respond to God? Who turned the gnats to dust in verse 19?
Do you see a pattern in Moses life where God was working in his life? First, God invited Moses to join Him in His work and deliver Israel. Second, God told Moses what he was to do. Then Moses obeyed. Fourth, God accomplished what His purposed to do. Last, Moses and those around him came to know God intimately. Miriam led the group into singing a song of what they learned about God at them moment. When Moses obeyed God, God did wonderful and exciting things.
Do you know of any other people from the Bible that obeyed God? Write them down and learn from them. What did God accomplish through them? Are you obedient to God, so he can accomplish wonderful and exciting things through you? When share what God is doing, be careful to make sure you are giving Him the glory and not yourself. Pride can creep in and take the glory away from God and then make it about us. So boast in the Lord!
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for using us for your glory. I pray that as we obey you and you accomplish your great purposes, that we will not be boast about ourselves but unto you. I pray that we will obey what you tell us to do.
