Treasured One

For you are a people holy to the Lord your God.  The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession out of all the earth.  Deuteronomy 7:6

We are God’s holy people.  We are set apart to be the service of God.   Just as the people, the Israelites, were chosen to be of service, so are we.  We are to worship God.  We are to stay faithful to God.

God chose us as his treasured possession.  What does that look like for you? Treasured possession!  When I think of the possessions that I treasure in my life,   I think about how I take care of them, how I show them off, and how I know where they are.  Take time to ponder on your treasure.  Do you have treasured possessions?  Then reflect on how God treasures you.

Think about your most treasured possession! How do you treat it? How do you take care of it? when you treasure things or people, you protect it, you take care of it.  If it’s a material treasure, we keep it safe.  We put it on a mantel.  We don’t share it to easily. If it is a person.  We love them, feed them, clothe them, speak truth to them, we are gentle with them, kind, and merciful.

Before we ever chose God, he chose us.  We are his treasure.  He values us.  Now, go back and rethink about your treasures.  This is how he feels about you, but more then we could comprehend.

Do you have treasured possessions?

How do you value them?

How do you take care of them?

Have you ever thought about you being God’s treasure?

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you that we are your Treasure.  I pray that we will serve you and choose you.  I pray that we will choose you to be our treasure.

In Jesus Name

Amen
