Trials Do End

What good is it for someone to gain the whole world yet forfeit their soul?  Mark 8:36

Have you ever been in a trial where you wondered if it would ever end?  Or if it will end?  Or how about one trial after another? We have.  The last hard trial I went through, I sat at Jesus’s feet and let Him be in control.  I learn many, many good things during this time.

Read Matthew 4:10.  What is the first thing Jesus says to satan?  How can we resist the devil, according to James 4:7?  This may require us to resist, to turn from temptation.  It may even require us to telling Satan to be gone by using Jesus’ Name.  Temptation is real; we must not ever forget that.  Jesus used scripture to battle Satan; we must also use the same strategy.  This requires us to spend time in prayer and the Bible.  We need to know the bible.

Read the following passages: Deuteronomy 4:9, 23.  How do these warnings translate to what you are facing in your life?  They both start with two words “Be Careful.”  We can translate it as “to be intentional about remembering.” We as humans can easily forget things when life is easy.  We should be preparing and being intentional in remembering what God is telling us and teaching us during this time.  Read and study the following passages:  Numbers 15:30; Psalm 77:11; Ecclesiastes 12:1; and Hebrews 8:12.  What do these verses teach us about remembering?

It can be hard to stay close to God when life is going well, yet when we have trialed, it can be easy for some of us to stay close to God.  IF we choose to trust God in all seasons of our life, we will see him do amazing things.  How do you struggle to stay faithful when life seems to be under control?

Let’s read Psalm 100.  What are the reasons why we should worship God?  What should we do as acts of worship?

Take time to make a plan of how you are going to stay close to God in all seasons of your life.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I pray that we will make a plan to stay close to you in all seasons of our lives.  Please help us to yearn to read and pray to you.

In Jesus Name

Amen
