Warning To Heed!

I am all about to go the way of all the earth.  Be strong, and show yourself a man, and keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in His ways and keep His statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn, that the Lord May establish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying, If your sons pay close attention to their way to walk before me in faithfulness with all of their heart and with all their soul, you shall lack a man on the throne of Israel.  1 King 2:2-4

King David was giving his son though one last father-son talk before he died. David was warning his son Solomon not to do what he did. King David learned some hard lessons and discipline that true success and blessings came from his faithfulness to God, word, and plan.

King David was deeply concerned that his son Solomon would remain faithful and obedient to God. Down the road through Solomon and his son’s failure to heed his father’s warning.   Solomon failed to follow King David’s desire. They turned away from God and the covenant.

As a result of Solomon’s choices, the kingdom was divided; the destruction of both the northern and southern kingdoms came. The only way to keep his (God)  promise of keeping David’s family in the line of the kingship is through Jesus Christ, a descendent of David.

Do you obey the commandments of God?

Do we heed the warning of others?

Or do we take offense to their warning/concern?

Dear Heavenly Father

Thank you for this beautiful day you have made!  I ask that you help each of us. Give us a desire to obey your commands. Help us not to be offended by others’ warnings or concerns they may see in our life. I pray we will want to live a life according to your will.

In Jesus Name

Amen
