What One Does Tells What One Believes

“David spoke to the men who were standing with him: “What will be done for the man who kills that Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Just who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God? ””
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17:26

What you do reveals what you believe about God, regardless of what you say. When God reveals his purpose for you, you will face a crisis – a decision time.  How we respond to God, will show the world what we really believe about God!
Let’s take a look at King David as a young boy!  Read 1 Samuel 16-17.  God brought David into His activity.  King David’s believes shines of what he thought of God!  He believed that since God delivered him from the paw of a lion and a bear, that God would also deliver him from the hand of a Philistine! Which God did do!! He believed that God was the living God and deliverer!  David’s actions showed he truly believed this.

Now let’s look at Sarai!  Her action also showed what she believed about God.  She didn’t not believe that God could give her a child in her old age.  She lacked faith.  Her lacked of faith in God was due to her human reasoning.  Unbelief in God is very costly.  Abram and Sarai (Abraham and Sarah) had much grief in their old age with Ishmael.  Ishmael and his descendants live in hostility towards Isaac and the Jews from this time to this very day.  This is costly.

Our actions speak louder than our words.  Let’s look at Matthew 8:5-13.  What did the centurion do to show his faith?  Read Matthew 8:23-27.  What did the disciples do to show their faith in the middle of the storm?

What do your actions say about your belief in God?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you that we can lean into you and have faith and to you that you will shine through us. God I pray that we will have our actions speak louder than our words and what we believe about you. I pray that we don’t have a little faith but we have faith in you for all that you can do.

In Jesus Name

Amen
