Jesus said to them, ‘My Father It’s always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.‘“ John 5:17
Do you struggle with your difficult or bad circumstances? How do you deal with those situations?
The Holy Spirit uses the Bible, prayer, and circumstances to speak to us, and show us the fathers will. Jesus knew what the father wanted him to do. This is how Jesus knew the father’s will for his life and daily activity. “In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.“Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.”
John 5:17, 19-20 NIV
Here is my challenge for you: memorize John 5:19.
Jesus didn’t take the initiative in what to do for the Father! Only the Father has the right to take the initiative. God the Father let Jesus know what he was doing. When Jesus saw God the Father’s activity, that was Jesus invitation to join in on the work. God used circumstances to show Jesus what he was doing!
Jesus was always looking for where God was working? And then Jesus would join him! Guess what?!? We can do the same thing! We just have to look around us and see what God is doing! Then God can accomplish His purpose through us as He did with Jesus.
Let’s look at Job. He didn’t know what was going on around him when he lost everything- his children, everything he owned, and sores on his body. Job wrestled with understanding His circumstances. He didn’t know what was happening from God’s perspective. Neither did he know in the last chapter where God would restore his property, his family, and his health. Jobes friends that they knew gods perspective that he needed to confess his sins. But Joe couldn’t find any unrighteousness in his life. If you didn’t read the last chapter of Job would you think that God was cruel? Do you think of the question why is he allowing this to happen? To understand our bad or difficult circumstances, we have to know God‘s perspective is vital. When we face difficult or confusing circumstances, they can overwhelm us. If you put her self in the middle of the circumstances and try to look at God, you will always have a distorted understanding of God. Perhaps you begin to question God‘s love or wisdom. Maybe you think he is wrong. What do you do? First, we go to God and ask him to show us his perspective on our circumstances. Look back at your circumstances from the heart of God. When we face difficult or confusing circumstances, the Spirit of God again will take the word of God and help us understand our circumstances from gods perspective. He will reveal the truth to each of us in our circumstances.
When circumstances are confusing settle in your own mind that God has forever demonstrated his absolute love for you on the cross. This love will never change. When circumstances are confusing do not try to understand what God is like from the middle of your circumstances. When circumstances are confusing go to God and ask him to help you see his perspective on your situation. With circumstances are confusing wait on the Holy Spirit. He may take the word of God and help you understand your circumstances. When circumstances are confusing adjust your life to God and what you see him doing doing in your circumstances. When circumstances are confusing do all he tells you to do. The circumstances are confusing experience God working in and through you to accomplish his purposes.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for you unconditional love for each of us. God I ask that when we go through bad or hard circumstances, your Holy Spirit will lead us to your perspective!
In Jesus Name
Amen
