because we wanted to come to you- I, Paul, again and again- but Satan hindered us. 1 Thessalonians 2:18
Be careful of accusing people of things when in reality they may be having a spiritual battle. I do not believe, we Christians put a lot of stock in the spiritual realm. Christians go through a lot when they choose to be obedient to God. There are struggles that we do not see. Satan did at times put obstacles in Paul’s way of his missionary endeavors. There are three biblical truths concerning Satan’s opposition to faithful Christians.
The first opposition is God allow Satan to war against us. Satan is allowed to attempt to stop us or turn us away from what God has put in our hearts to do for his kingdom. Take a moment and evaluate this point for a while. Do you see where God has put something in your heart to do for his kingdom? Do you see the obstacles you went through just to be obedient to God. Was it a physical obstacles or emotional obstacle?
The second obstacle is Satan’s power. It is subject to God sovereignty. God can overrule Satan’s activities. God can make them into good for his kingdom. God chooses to involve his followers in this process as he responds to their faithful obedience and prayers.
The last obstacle is God’s children can overcome Satan’s opposition by their prayers. They overcome obstacles by their own testimonies for Christ and their obedient love for God. Satan’s opposition does not need to succeed. It doesn’t have to keep us from fulfilling God’s plans for us.
Now that we are aware of the three oppositions that Satan throws at us, we will know what to do. We need to be in constant prayer for ourselves and for each other. We need to stop critiquing one another, there is a spiritual world at play with our physical world.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for protecting us from Satans scheme. That you overall have control over all things. Help us to be respectful, caring, loving towards each other. Help us not to use Satan as an excuse For our actions to one another. Help us to Discern the spiritual world.
