I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. Isaiah 46:9
How much do you know about God? Do you believe in who He says He is?
Read Matthew 16: 13-19. As you read this passage, keep in mind that as we apply them to God the Father, these are Christ’s own words that the Father and He are One. John 10: 30.
Where do you get your information about who God is? From books, media, friends, religious people, or religious leaders?
If you are an active believing God follower, you have to hold everything you learn to the bible itself. Better yet, study the Bible itself for the biblical concepts of finding God’s truth and who He says he is. When we actually study the bible, we even have to be careful not to put our own beliefs into the bible. As humans, I mean that we have a tendency to have our opinions, and we affirm and reaffirm what we believe spiritually. We don’t necessarily search and consider the whole counsel of the Bible, God’s Word.
We tend to copy and paste what we learn through different denominations, books, others, etc., views. We need to start having biblical support for our views. This takes courage to believe what God says over what people say. If we take a look around us and see all the different bible teaching teachers we have had, one could say we have learned a lot about God. These ways of learning biblical theology can be official or unofficial, formal or informal. We learn through life experiences, and through that make our biblical theology based on that. Then we have all the conversations, television, and even nature that in one way or another can be a teacher to us about who God is. Let’s go a little further here. Please don’t be offended. Then there are our parents, our Sunday School teachers, mentors, etc. The very people that we trust, so we believe what they have to teach us. We have to put what they teach us to what the Bible teaches. Do they line up? IS God able to show up and speak to you about His truths?
Read 2nd Corinthians 5:7. Read this in several versions. What is the difference? According to Strong’s Concordance, walk means to make one’s way. Sight means the external or outward appearance. Now reread and put this into the light of the scripture. What do you learn?
Read Isaiah 45: 18-25. along with Isaiah 46:9. What various ways does God set Himself apart from all others?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your word and that we can find your truths within your word. I pray that we will listen to you as you speak to us about who you say you are.
In Jesus Name
Amen
