With All Your Heart

Love the Lord with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.  Mark 12:30

Loving God with your whole heart means being completely devoted to God with your entire being, with all that one has.  Loving God with your whole heart means He is the source and object of your greatest desires and passions.   Center the core of your heart on Jesus.  This means that you are completely faithful.  Loving God this way means a willingness to do anything for him.

Loving God with all your soul deals with our deepest longings, emotions, and convictions.  The soul is your identity.  Your identity is in Christ.  Your soul is completely one with Christ. When focused on God with our soul, we honor God.

Loving God with all your mind means that not only are we serving Him with emotions and feelings, but a deliberate act of your will.  It means keeping our minds pure.  it’s pleasing Him with our thoughts, decisions, and ideas.  In the area’s  of our mind we need to be obedient to God’s word.  We have to do what is right.

Loving God with all your strength means everything we do is to serve God and promote his purposes.  This means that all of our energies must go towards God’s purpose.  Serving God with all our strength  means even the physical challenges, even when we are exhausted.  Loving God involves making tough choices and choosing to obey God as Jesus did.  Even Jesus felt the pain of obeying God.
